Jennifer Mellor Dance Project

Tulsa Ballet Creations in Studio K | Thurs May 9 at 6:30pm | 1212 E 45th Pl in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Jennifer Mellor Dance Project was excited to be invited by the Tulsa Ballet to perform as a guest artist in the final program of their 2013 season at Studio K in Brookside. We opened the evening's performance with our newest work Love/Lost, featuring Jennifer Cha, Patty Chen, Daniel Chenoweth, Jennifer Mellor and Jocelyn Ordiales. Tulsa Ballet performed three new works by Matthew Neenan, Nicolo Fonte and Ma Cong for "Creations in Studio K".

Somewhere between loose narrative and purely abstract dance, the 20-minute work features an ensemble of five dancers seeking to find peace and clarity (and perhaps even happiness) in a jumble of emotional confusion, fear and helplessness through modern movement and counterpoint that is specific, layered and intertwining.

Love/Lost is set to an original music score by San Francisco composer T.C. Crosser with costumes by NYC designer Hannah Richey. Choreography by Jennifer Mellor in collaboration with the dancers. Support in part by the Living Arts LAB of Tulsa and the Triskelion Arts Space Subsidy Program, made possible with support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

TICKETS: Tulsa Ballet box office.
